Historical Person: Confusius

Biographical Information: Confusius was born in 551 b.c. in LU, now Shantung, China. He lived in China for all his life. During his life, he met with Lao-Tzu, the founder of Taoism. He avoided war, tried to limit taxes, and force punishments. He was nicknamed "Long Fellow." He lived a long life and passed on his knowledge to over 3,000 disciples. He died in 479 b.c. at age 72. One of his most famous quotes is, "Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life."




Trials and Tribulations: In his life, he faced many obstacles. He had to deal the death of his father at age 3. He had to deal with the death of his mother at age 21. He also had to try to pass on his knowledge. That was the hardest obstacle. He accomplished many things in his life too. He founded Confucianism. He developed ideas on how to restore a battered China. He also resigned as high minister for many years.




Character Traits: Confusius shared many traits in his life. These include: perserverense, wisdom, boldness, honor, helpful, active, brave, loyal, handy, royal, and mature
